Borkholder Furniture has been on the move this summer. Camped out in a temporary space at the Las Vegas Market this summer, we showed off the often surprising results of what happens when an Amish solid wood furniture maker partners with world-class furniture designers.
In Vegas, the design team focused on consumers’ love of travel, relaxation and the great outdoors. To that end, highly edited showroom display keyed in on how to bring the outdoors into an eclectic bedroom retreat, the art of kicking back, and even the recreational vehicle business.
Say what? Turns out Ola Yoder, our chief executive, actually keeps a close eye on the RV industry thanks to the numerous RV manufacturers that neighbor Borkholder in the region Northeast of Ft. Wayne. As he shared with the design team earlier this year, RV ownership is not only on the rise, but appealing to a younger generation of affluent buyers. Eyeing this growth market for quality, small-scale furnishings—which in many ways mirrors the need for furniture sized for smaller, urban settings—(how’s that for an “aha!” moment), we introduced the small scale, traditionally styled, solid wood, 30×36 Cambridge Table and coordinating Glenwood Chairs. Whether on the road, or in a small dining area, this pair is right at home.
